Unabashed Nightwish fan

William has kindly printed on my calendar that it is Anette’s birthday on Saturday 21st (tomorrow). Happy birthday Anette (: Her new haircut is gorgeous and Nightwish is still my favourite secular band in the whole wide world.

    Hello

I haven’t read all your posts on Nightwish, so I might have missed something, but from what I gather you didn’t exactly mind the lead singer change… If I’m wrong here, you can pretty much ignore the comment. :P

But, umm… while Dark Passion Play is nice, and I too would love Anette’s voice under almost any other circumstances, but… Well, I’ve seen them perform live, and *that* broke my heart a little. They were great at the new songs (I adore The Poet and the Pendulum), but they played older stuff too, and that was a mistake in my opinion.

I’m not saying she’s supposed to be the same as Tarja was, but she simply doesn’t have the voice she had.
That doesn’t make me hate her, and in a way their parting is nice, cause now I can listen to both NW and Tarja, but I still miss Once for example.
Anyway, happy birthday to Anette, and sorry for the rant. :)

No sorries :) Yeah, you’re right, I don’t mind Anette’s voice. Admittedly I got hooked on Nightwish only after Tarja left (although I didn’t realise this until nearly 2 years later!). However I loved Nightwish with Tarja back then, and I love Nightwish with Anette now.

I have to admit that I haven’t heard Nightwish live, but mostly because I live in New Zealand and we tend not to be the most-performed country in the world! Maybe someday I will, and then I’ll be a wee bit disillusioned as well.. but in the meantime I think I’ll just enjoy the music.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

No worries, they still rock, with or without Tarja. :)
I feel your pain by the way, Hungary isn’t exactly the most visited of countries either. *cries*

I just stumbled across this haha. I wished Anette a happy birthday too (not on WordPress mind you…)! I adore her. I thought she was spectacular live. Then again, I think the show here was one of the very few where she wasn’t sick.

Apologies if this is way too late coming, but I had to comment when I see there’s another Anette fan around ^.^.

Talking about great voices; this friday olympics start and
the first woman who warmed my heart by her singing will do the opening; sarah brightman. About nightwish; they are touring… had 4 performances in my tiny country. But I went to the sex pistols instead :)
